Suffragettes and Cricketers? In one book? Is it possible? Yes it is, in Half the Human Race, which I am currently reading. The prose is beautifully drawn. Quinn gets right in side the head and heart of Constance our suffragette in an almost uncanny way. Am almost finished and have been avoiding any reveals of plot. But I must confess, I have felt my eyes pricking with the emotion of it at times. A book that has cricket in it by crikey and I can't even stand the game! Any one else cry while reading?

Not often. Of the recent weepings, most have been at the news.
I do it all the time, though more with rage at being an invisible person with a pram
